Qalibaf Rejects Claims of Exclusion: Iranian Parliament Fully Informed on Oman Talks
Qalibaf firmly rejected claims that lawmakers have been excluded from recent indirect talks between Iran and the United States held in Oman.
Tehran - In response to concerns voiced during a parliamentary session on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf firmly rejected claims that lawmakers have been excluded from recent indirect talks between Iran and the United States held in Oman.
Qalibaf addressed the objection raised by one of the legislators, making it clear that the Parliament has been kept informed throughout the process.
“No action or measure (by Iran) would be taken in violation of the legal procedure,” Qalibaf stated, emphasizing that proper legislative oversight is in place and maintained throughout the negotiations.
Delegations from Iran and Oman held a round of indirect talks in Muscat on Saturday, mediated by the foreign minister of Oman.
The two sides, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and the US president’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, have expressed satisfaction with the initial steps.
The next round of negotiations is scheduled for April 19. (PW)
