In a felicitation letter to the Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Independence Day, French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed that 'France stands today, as at all times, with Lebanon and the Lebanese people.

'Lebanese women and men in their diaries can count on France's support in meeting their urgent needs in the fields of food, health, education and housing.

We are working, in cooperation with the United Nations and all of our partners, in order to hold an international conference in support of the Lebanese people.' President Macron also indicated that the multifaceted crisis that Lebanon is going through, on various economic, financial and social levels, as well as political levels, calls for strong measures, adding that the solutions lie in the necessity of putting into effect the roadmap that all political parties committed to on the first of September.

'This road map responds simultaneously to the requirements of Lebanon's sincere friends, as well as the legitimate expectations expressed by the Lebanese people.' President Macron's words came in a message of congratulations on the seventy-seventh anniversary of independence, which he sent to President Aoun.
