TEHRAN, February 20 (MNA) – The head of Iran’s parliamentary delegation to the Asian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly has said that the country has been elected as the chairman of the Asian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in 2027 and 2028.Chairman of Iran’s parliamentary delegation to the Asian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Mohsen Zanganeh stated that a group of Asian parliaments came together and formed an association called the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) to spread more peace and security.

At the initiative taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2006, the assembly was renamed the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, he said, adding that the secretariat of the assembly is headquartered in Iran.
