A rally was held in Gaza in protest at Israel’s plan to annex large swathes of land in the occupied West Bank.

Protesters also expressed their frustration with the increasing normalization of ties between a number of Arab governments and Tel-Aviv. Palestinians have rallied in the Gaza Strip to condemn Israel’s annexation plan and to slam normalization of ties between some Arab countries and the Israeli regime.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has set July 1st for the start of cabinet discussions on annexing illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank as well as the Jordan Valley.

Israel’s plan to steal more Palestinian land enjoys the full support of the United States.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which organized the Thursday protest, slammed the warming of relations between Tel-Aviv and Arab states in the Persian Gulf region.

On Tuesday, UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash attended the annual American Jewish Committee’s Virtual Global Forum, where he called for closer cooperation with the Israeli regime.

The West Bank, including Jerusalem al-Quds and the Jordan Valley, is seen as occupied territory under international law, which makes all Israeli settlements there and their annexation illegal.

The Palestinian Fatah movement says a unified stance must be adopted to confront all conspiracies against Palestinian people.

Over the past years, some Arab countries have been normalizing their ties with Israel, a move which observers believe would further embolden the regime to push ahead with its annexation plan.

Palestinians want the occupied West Bank as part of their future independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.

The warming of relations between Israel and Arab countries, especially in the Persian Gulf region, has increased following Saudi Arabia’s lead.

Israel’s annexation plan has enraged Palestinians and drawn international criticism.
