By Staff, Agencies The number of confirmed COVID-19 coronavirus infections in the ‘Israeli’ occupation entity surged to 9,968 Thursday evening, the Health Ministry reported, as the entity’s death toll hit 86. With 166 patients said to be in a serious condition, 171 are reported to experience moderate symptoms.

Some 1,011 patients have left the hospitals after recovering, and the rest are in a mild state, with minor to no symptoms.

The fresh figures come as the Zionist entity remains under a full lockdown, with inter-city travels banned to prevent family gatherings on Passover holidays.

According to reports in the Hebrew media, the Zionist Health Ministry sought an extension to the travel ban until the end of next week as a precaution measure.

However, some of the recent statements coming from ‘Israeli’ health officials suggested a cautious optimism regarding the situation in the occupied territories, with caretaker Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set to submit the plan to re-start the occupation entity’s economy after the coronavirus crisis next week.

‘Israeli’ officials have also been floating the idea of gradually easing the restrictions after the Passover, later in April
