Head of a notorious anti-Iran network, Rouhollah Zam has been arrested through sophisticated intelligence operations by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards corps.  Zam who lived in Paris, operated the opposition Telegram channel and news site dubbed “Amad News” with hundreds of thousands of followers.

Observers say his arrest is not an issue of free speech since there are several other anti-Iran news outlets that are operating freely.

Zam’s arrest is considered a blow to foreign intelligence services that directed and supported him, namely the French intelligence service as well as the US and Zionist intelligence services, according to a statement released by the IRGC Zam is expected to stand trial but no date has yet been confirmed.

Zam’s arrest is considered a major step not just because he was the owner of the website but because now the major players behind the scenes will be revealed
