On Saturday, Iraqi security sources revealed that the Kalsu Base in Musayib, south of Baghdad, was the target of three air raids.

The attacks, suspected to be carried out by drones, aimed at the main entrance to the base and an office belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

As Iraqi airspace continued to see American air traffic following the assault, the PMF headquarters at the Kalsu military base confirmed an explosion took place.

The base, housing forces from the army, federal police, and the PMF, saw the headquarters of the PMF Chief of Staff, a tank base, and the Babylon Sites Command entrance attacked.

In response to the incident, the Secretary-General of the Sayyed al-Shuhada Brigades in Iraq, Abu Alaa al-Walai, vowed to retaliate against those responsible for the assault.

Despite speculation, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied any involvement in the attack, with the international coalition led by the United States echoing the sentiment, stating, 'Coalition Forces did not participate or strike locations in Iraq.'
