Iran's foreign minister, Amir-Abdollahian, informed the United States of a retaliatory operation against Israel following recent attacks on Iranian facilities.

The operation, dubbed Operation True Promise, was carried out in response to Israel's aggression in Damascus, which resulted in the deaths of high-ranking Iranian military advisors.

Arriving in New York for a United Nations Security Council session, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran does not seek escalation but is defending its legitimate right to self-defense.

The minister warned that Israel's actions could further destabilize the region.

The Security Council meeting will address the situation in Gaza, where Israel's ongoing war has resulted in a staggering death toll exceeding 34,000, with a majority being women and children.

Iran is advocating for immediate ceasefire efforts and the provision of humanitarian aid to the affected population.

‘Israel’ launched the brutal campaign in the Gaza Strip on October 7.

The death toll from the regime’s genocidal atrocities now tops 34,000, mostly women and children.
