TEHRAN, May 21 (MNA) – Regarding the martyrdom of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Pakistan's ambassador in Tehran said that he played an instrumental role in solidifying Iran and Pakistan ties, and his contribution will be remembered for generations.Martyr Amir-Abdollahian was a person of strong moral character.
He was known for his modest, friendly, and intimate approach in his interactions with colleagues, friends, and even strangers.
In addition to his political initiatives and revolutionary spirit, he had a commanding presence in the region, a sharp mind, and a strong memory.
His clear and calculated speech during public addresses and meetings was another positive trait.
Media and foreign policy experts often highlighted this as one of the strengths of his diplomatic speeches.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were martyred in a helicopter crash in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan on Sunday.
The helicopter carrying President Raeisi and his accompanying delegation crashed on Sunday in the Dizmar forest, nestled between the cities of Varzaqan and Jolfa in East Azarbaijan Province.
In an interview with Mehr News Agency, regarding the martyrdom of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Pakistan's ambassador in Tehran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu touched upon his role in boosting Iran and Pakistan relations.
You have met Mr Amirabollahian Iranian former foreign minister as ambassador of your respective country to Tehran. What were his most important characteristics from your point of view?
Foreign minister Amir-Abdollahian was an excellent human being.
I was deeply impressed by his grace, his humility, his thoughtfulness, and his farsightedness.
He has been extremely kind to me personally.
About his characteristics, I think he was one of the most important statemen in the world.
How serious did you find him in securing Iran's national interest? He had deep insight into geopolitical issues.
He had strategic clarity and he pursued the interests of Iran with a great deal of dedication.
How effective were his measures in boosting Iran and your country's ties? He was also deeply associated with Pakistan.
He wanted to solidify Pakistan and Iran relations.
He went to Pakistan at the end of January to create more trust and confidence between the leaders and people of the two countries.
When the foreign minister went to Pakistan in April along with the honorable President Raeisi, he had excellent meetings with the leadership and he played an instrumental role in solidifying our ties, and his contribution will be remembered for the generations.
In my country, there is a great deal of mourning going on and people are expressing heartful condolences.
These two figures were really popular in Pakistan and they were in the heart of Pakistani people.
Today the Pakistani flag will be half-mast.
The prime minister decided to respect the departed souls.
The people of Pakistan remain in solidarity with Iranians in this critical and tragic moment in history.
