Jesus Silva Press TV, Caracas Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has slammed the United States and the European Union for casting doubt on the legitimacy of the legislative elections scheduled to be held on December 6. Washington and Brussels have accused the Venezuelan government of disregarding legal and fair conditions to hold the parliamentary vote.

Rodriguez said criticisms leveled against the integrity of elections will not influence the polls.

Venezuelan officials say what actually matters is the will of the Venezuelan people.

Some opposition figures, however, follow the critical foreign stance with regard to the elections.

Some also reject the idea of boycotting the polls.

Although the US and the EU keep pressuring Venezuela through economic sanctions and discrediting its elections, Caracas is determined to stand for the nation’s right to choose its authorities by public vote
