Ruba Shabit Press TV, Gaza The Israeli military conducted attacks on at least three sites in the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday, with sources in the enclave saying Israeli aircraft had also fired missiles at positions in al-Nahda neighborhood, near the international airport in the southern city of Rafah. Israel claimed that the strikes were in response to the launching of incendiary balloons from Gaza over the past several days, which it blames on Hamas.

The Israeli regime every so often launches strikes against positions in the blockaded enclave, accusing the resistance groups there of launching rockets.

Palestinians say the incendiary balloons fired from the enclave aimed at drawing attention to the dire condition and the deteriorating economic situation in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza has been under Israeli siege since June 2007, which has caused a decline in living standards.

Israel has also launched three major wars against the enclave since 2008, killing thousands of Gazans each time.

While Israeli threatens Palestinians with a wider escalation, Palestinians say they will not give in and will continue their fight against the blockade which is in place imposed since 14 years ago
