In his New Year speech, which was delivered on March 22, 2020, Imam Khamenei stated that one should not be taken by surprise when one sees fierce enmity towards the Islamic government, and added, “Well, we have many enemies and we should not be surprised at this.

As I mentioned, Allah the Exalted has said in the Holy Qur’an, ‘And thus did We make for every prophet an enemy, the devils from among men and jinn some of them suggesting to others varnished falsehood to deceive (them).’ [Holy Qur’an, 6:112] There are enemies from among both jinn and human beings, and they help one another.

The security services of many countries work together against us.” The Supreme Leader’s reference to enemies from among men and jinn caused a stir in some media services.

For this reason, Khameneir.ir has conducted an interview with Ayatollah Ahmad Abedi, a professor of prominence in the seminaries and the universities, asking him to expand on the Supreme Leader’s statement from the point of view of the Qur’an.Interviewer: As you know, the Supreme Leader spoke about the devils from among men and jinn, an issue that was greatly reflected in the social networks.

The phrase “the devils from among men and jinn” is very common in His Eminence’s statements.

He normally cites many verses from the Qur’an and traditions in his speeches.

But this time, the atmosphere created in the media made it look like he has used such a phrase for the first time.

If you could please explain for us about His Eminence’s way of speaking, in particular with regards to verse 112 from the chapter “The Cattle.” Ayatollah Ahmad Abedi: In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In verse 112 of the chapter “The Cattle,” God says, “And thus did We make for every prophet an enemy, the devils from among men and jinn.” The Arabic word “Shayatin” has frequently been used in the Qur’an and in other traditions.

The issue of the jinn and the devils from among the jinn is one that is based on logic, philosophy, traditions and religious tenets.

In Sohrevardi’s book on philosophy “Hikmat al-Ishraq” and Mulla Sadra’s “Mafatih al-Ghayb,” there are many discussions on the subject of the jinn, but people sometimes adopt an extremist outlook towards “the devils from among men and jinn.” Some people completely deny the existence of jinns and some believe in them to such an extent that they ascribe every problem, difficulty and disease in their lives to them.

Jinns exist, and they can influence one’s life as well, but their influence is minimal, to say the least.

However, the influence that jinns can exert on human beings and the fact that they can send messages to people is the point that was raised by Hazrat Aqa.

This is what devils do when they interact with one another, and this has been pointed out in the Qur’an as well.

In the chapter “The Cow,” verse 275 says, “…as one whom the devil has prostrated by (his) touch...” This is the same concept as being haunted by the jinn.

In the chapter “The Cattle,” verse 116 says that those who do not believe in the hereafter believe in the words that the devils utter.

For example, they listen to the US, the Great Satan, and its cohorts.

They like what they are saying and wish to spread their words. In other words, those who do not believe in the hereafter or whose belief in Allah, the Exalted, is shaky are influenced by satanic inspirations.

In verse 113 of the chapter “The Cattle,” God says, “And that the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter may incline to it and that they may be well pleased with it and that they may earn what they are going to earn (of evil).” This means that people who do not have firm faith accept what the devils and jinn say.

Therefore, first of all, devils from among the men and jinn exist, and they are the enemies of human beings and the believers.

Secondly, they are in contact with one another, and they whisper words into one another’s ears.

They design plots like betrayal against people as well.

Interviewer: Do you believe the enemy uses metaphysical powers to confront the Iranian nation? Ayatollah Ahmad Abedi: The Jews, and in particular the Zionists, pursue metaphysical matters to a large extent.

Their intelligence service, Mossad, does such things[1], undoubtedly.

There is a great deal of evidence to support this.

However, we should regulate our lives based on relying on God.

We should plan based on wisdom, social conventions and common sense and move the country forward in this way.   [1] https://t.co/OGgQcP96OO?amp=1 https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article131827589.html https://www.businessinsider.com/israeli-psychic-convinced-cia-read-minds-2017-1
