Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei called on Sunday for constructive interaction between the Iranian Parliament and the incoming administration, saying a united voice from Iran will disappoint those looking for internal rifts.

The Leader made the remark in a meeting with the members of the Iranian Parliament.

The meeting, held in Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in Tehran, was attended by Iranian President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian, Iranian media reported.

Imam Khamneei elucidated key points regarding the duties of the Parliament in the field of legislation and its dos and don'ts, while stressing the importance of effective interaction with the government, according to Tasnim News Agency.

His eminence also highlighted the necessity of a unified voice from the country’s pillars and underscored the active presence and significant role of the parliament in Iran’s foreign affairs and foreign policy.

“My strong recommendation is the constructive interaction of the parliament with the new administration.

The success of the president and the new administration is the success of all of us”, Imam Khamenei said, as quoted by Mehr News Agency.

“His (the president’s) victory is the victory of all of us.

This should be believed deeply”, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed, noting that “one single voice” should be heard from the administration and Majlis on key issues in order to disappoint those outside the country, who are seeking for signs of discord.” Pointing to the Parliament’s significant capacities in the field of international affairs, the Leader stated, “The parliament is a powerful leverage that world governments use in their interactions.” Imam Khamenei considered the issue of Gaza as one of the examples of the Parliament's activities in the field of foreign affairs and emphasized the importance of working in this area.

“Gaza is still the Islamic world’s number one issue.

It is true that as the months have passed (since the 2023 Gaza war), the initial enthusiasm has waned in many people, but the fact of the matter is that it is just as important today as it was in the beginning, if not more,” the Leader said.
