Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah underscored on Sunday the profound parallels between the events of the Karbala epic on Ashura and the ongoing brutal massacres perpetrated by the Zionist enemy in Gaza today.
In a speech on the first eve of Muharram, Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted that this year's Ashura carries a distinctly different atmosphere from previous years, amidst ongoing conflicts in Gaza and southern Lebanon, with daily reports of martyrs and wounded.
Ashura marks the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in the tragic events of Karbala, Iraq.
Spiritual Preparation for Sacrifice Speaking of Ashura's spiritual influence, Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that the substantial attendance during last year's Ashura nights across Lebanon had readied Hezbollah's community and fighters to take a resolute stance in opening the front against Israel in support of Gaza. It is noteworthy that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood began approximately two months after Ashura 2023.
Sayyed Nasrallah affirmed that 'the righteousness of the Palestinian cause and the brutality of the Israeli occupation are crystal clear and beyond debate.' 'The massacres in the Gaza Strip are unprecedented; anyone who ignores what is happening there is devoid of compassion, reason, and humanity,' Sayyed Nasrallah added.
Are we not on the right path? In relation to the ongoing battles on the southern Lebanese front in support of Gaza resistance and people, Sayyed Nasrallah said, 'Our responsibility is to uphold the truth, even as we endure accusations, skepticism, and belittlement over the past nine months.
In this ongoing struggle amidst the Al-Aqsa flood, as time marches on and our valiant fighters age, our message to the world, allies, and foes remains resolute: we remain steadfast on the righteous path, undeterred by death.' Sayyed Hasan's resolute words were imbued with the essence of Ashura 2024's motto: 'Are we not on the path of righteousness?' This slogan underscores the unwavering preparedness to sacrifice oneself, land, and home in the pursuit of justice and the defeat of tyranny.
Nasrallah: to friends and enemies, arent we righteous, therefore we do not fear death.
