Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei voiced solidarity with Lebanon after the port catastrophic explosion, urging patience in face of the disaster. Two massive explosions went off at Beirut port and rocked the entire Lebanese capital on Tuesday, killing or wounding hundreds of people.

The blasts shook buildings and sent huge plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.

Meanwhile, Imam Khamenei agreed to pardon or ease the jail terms of 2,135 prisoners sentenced by the public and revolutionary courts in Iran.

The Supreme Leader's amnesty was granted on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha (the Muslims' feast of sacrifice and worship) and Eid al-Ghadir.

The amnesty was upon a proposal by the Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Ebrahim Raeisi
