A panel appointed following the deadly January 6 attack by supporters of former president Donald Trump on the US Congress has recommended a thousand more police officers and extra fencing amid fears of violence.

According to sources familiar with the report, the panel’s recommendations to increase security on the Capitol Hill included expanding the Capitol Police force by 1,100, establishing a “Quick Reaction Force” to assist police during emergencies, increased National Guard presence, and new mobile fencing or retractable fencing around the Capitol and members' office buildings.

It was reportedly unveiled by retired Army Lt.

Gen. Russel Honoré, who was chosen by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on January 15, nine days after the Capitol Hill attack which left 5 people dead and many more injured.

“[W]e recommend establishment of a robust, dedicated QRF [Quick Reaction Force], not only for the USCP [United States Capitol Police], but to serve the nation’s capital writ large,” Fox News cited from the report.

On Monday, Honoré and panel member are expected to brief Congress on the measures.

The measures come amid reports of QAnon plans to unseat the US government in a repeat of the January 6 attack launched by the Trump loyalists.

Capitol Police and the FBI said they gathered intelligence that the Three Percenters, an extremist militia group linked to QAnon, planned to attack the US Capitol as legal action continued over "terrorism" charges against the Trump loyalists who took part in the bloody January 6 attack on Capitol Hill.

Acting Chief of the US Capitol Police Yogananda Pittman warned of a “possible plot” by the militia group to storm the building again, two months after Trump loyalist from far-right groups such as Proud Boys and Oath Keepers stormed Congress to halt the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

Pittman urged Congressional leaders on Thursday to use their influence to make National Guard troops remain in the Capitol
