TEHRAN, January 30 (MNA) – Iran’s grandmaster defeated his American opponent at the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2023.Parham Maghsoodloo beat Levon Aronian who is an Armenian-American super grandmaster.

Iran's national chess player gained seven points and stood in sixth place in the tournament.

Some 14 chess players from all over the world took part in the prestigious event.

Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2023 was held in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.
