TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty briefed his Iranian counterpart on Cairo’s efforts to establish a new ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. - Politics news - The Iranian and Egyptian foreign ministers extended mutual congratulations on Eid al-Fitr in a telephone conversation and talked about the latest regional developments, specifically in Gaza.Abdelatty gave Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi a report on Egypt’s consultations and efforts to reestablish ceasefire in Gaza, stressing the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent an escalation of insecurity in the region.For his part, Araqchi elaborated on Iran’s diplomatic consultations during the past two weeks with the countries inside and outside the region.He also emphasized the necessity for coordinated action by the regional countries to stop genocide in Gaza, prevent the Israeli regime’s aggression against Lebanon and Syria, which he said has jeopardized international peace and security, and put an end to the US’ strikes against Yemen.
