TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondo practitioners claimed three medals on the opening day of the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships in Bulgaria. - Sports news - The Iranian girls claimed two gold medals and an Iranian boy snatched a silver medal.In the under-29kg, Baran Jamal Livani won a gold medal with a win over Kazakhstan’s Yarina Pugantsova.

The bronze medals went to Nigorakhon Azamjonova of Uzbekistan and Serbian Arijana Ivanovic.In the under-51kg category, gold also went to Iran’s Sayna Alipour who defeated Magdalini Klakala of Greece in straight rounds.
Bronze medals were won by Rozalina Talibjanova of Uzbekistan and Yara Hamzeh of Germany.In the boys’ category, Mohammad Erfan Zare' of Iran lost to Dongmin Kang of South Korea in the under-65 kilograms.
A total of 669 taekwondo practitioners from 90 countries are competing in the Championships in Sofia.
